Cleaning a Dynavap. Step by step instructions.
Keeping your DynaVap dry herb vaporizer in top condition is the best way to ensure a satisfying and smooth experience every time. Whether you use it daily or are just starting out, as with any vaporizer, regular cleaning is essential to maintain full flavor. Fortunately, the DynaVap is quite easy to clean compared to most battery-powered vaporizers. You don't have to worry about the screen or electronic parts, so you get the full flavor and performance that has characterized DynaVap for years. This guide will walk you through each step of cleaning your DynaVap and ensure you can enjoy it as if it were fresh out of the box.
Why clean dry herb vaporizers?
Over time, residues build up in all evaporators. These residues are cooked over and over again, meaning that over time a burnt taste can creep into your vaporizer. It's basically like a pot that you use over and over again... you get to a point where you just have to clean it because the food tastes less like food and more like the burnt bottom of the pot. It's pretty similar with vaporizers - residues burn in their chambers and on the edges. With the DynaVap, these are mainly the cap, the tip and the capacitor. This can reduce airflow and result in less than optimal flavor. Cleaning these parts removes all residues so the appliance tastes like new again. Unlike other vaporizers where 100% cleaning is almost impossible, DynaVap vaporizers are characterized by the fact that the DynaVap does not have a battery. Thorough cleaning is child's play. It can last for years!
When should you clean your DynaVap?
How often you should clean your DynaVap vaporizer depends on how often you use it and what materials you vape, as it is easier to clean thoroughly than traditional vaporizers that need to be cleaned almost daily. As a rule of thumb, DynaVap vaporizers should be thoroughly cleaned every one to two weeks if used frequently. For occasional use, once a month is sufficient. You'll know it's time for a cleaning when the draw quality and flavor are different from what you noticed when you first started using the vaporizer. Your preferences play a role here.
Tools you need to clean a vaporizer.
To clean your DynaVap vaporizer, you don't need any fancy equipment, just a few household items: Isopropyl alcohol (90% or more): The higher the percentage, the better Small container: For soaking the parts Pipe cleaners or cotton swabs: These help get to the inside of the condenser Microfiber cloth: For polishing (not required, but we all like shine) Optional: A soft brush for removing stubborn residue
Step-by-step instructions for cleaning your DynaVap.
- Disassemble your DynaVap. First, make sure the DynaVap has completely cooled down, then carefully take each component apart: Cap: Slide it off the tip. Tip: Remove it from the middle section. Condenser: Gently pull the condenser (inner tube) out of the middle section. O-rings: Make note of the position of each O-ring so you can put them back in correctly. Avoid soaking the O-rings in alcohol as this can degrade the material over time.
- Soak and Allow Parts to Soak (Not the Cap) Place the tip, midsection, and capacitor in a small container of isopropyl alcohol. Soaking for about 15-30 minutes should be enough to remove most residue. The longer you let it soak, the easier it will be to clean. Tip: If you are dealing with heavy residue, it may be a good idea to soak the parts overnight. Dynavap Soak for Cleaning
- Clean the Condenser After it is well soaked, use a pipe cleaner dipped in isopropyl alcohol to clean the inside of the condenser. Run the pipe cleaner through a few times until it is free of residue or buildup. If it is particularly dirty, a second soak may be helpful. Cleaning Dynavap Condenser
- Scrub the tip and cap Use a cotton swab or small brush to remove any remaining debris from the tip and cap. Focus on the screen in the tip as this is where material builds up that can affect airflow and flavor. Be careful but thorough to ensure every nook and cranny is clean.
- Rinse and dry Once everything is clean and free of residue, rinse each piece under warm water to remove any alcohol residue. Make sure everything is completely dry when assembling. You can then polish your device with a microfiber cloth. This not only ensures a good polish and shine, but also helps with drying.
- Reassemble your DynaVap Now that all the parts of the vaporizer are clean and dry, it's time to put everything back together. Carefully replace the O-rings in their positions on the condenser and tip (if applicable). Put the capacitor back into the middle section, push the tip back on and finally put the cap on the tip.
Bonus Pro Tips to Keep Your DynaVap Cleaner Longer Use a Brush After Each Session: A quick brushing of the tip and screen after a session can help keep buildup to a minimum and quickly ensure that any leftovers are brushed out, saving you the trouble of having to do a thorough cleaning and the frequency of cleaning.
Avoid overfilling: A common mistake is overfilling. For maximum flavor and airflow, underpack. You'll get used to what's right for you.
Enjoy your refreshed DynaVap! Once you get used to giving it a quick brush every day or after each session and cleaning it regularly, it really isn't a big deal to keep your dry herb vaporizer's flavor at 100%.
